In an landmark development for the growth of water stewardship internationally, a Chinese municipal authority has offered an incentive payment for companies to adopt and be certified against the AWS Water Stewardship Standard. AWS Asia Pacific are delighted to convene and host the first AWS Water Stewardship Forum in Indonesia. Titled ‘Is water your business?’ the forum takes place on 8th May in Bogor, West-Java Indonesia at the Salak Tower Hotel. Renmark Irrigation Trust becomes the world's first gold agricultural site and first agricultural collective to be AWS certified. Some of the best elements of water stewardship were on display in the South Australian town of Renmark earlier this month when government, business and civil society leaders came together on the Murray River to celebrate the first gold level certification of an agricultural site.  Renmark Irrigation Trust (RIT) is the first agricultural collective to be certified and paves the way for other groups of irrigators, villages or farm collectives to follow in their wake.                  ...

Iberesparragal, a citrus grower in Spain, has become the first European farm to receive a Gold Certification under the AWS Standard. Another great water stewardship story has emerged with Iberesparragal, an orange grower in Spain becoming the first in Europe to receive Gold Certification under AWS. Iberesparragal produces citrus fruits for EDEKA and Netto Marken-Discount, two German supermarkets. Through a partnership with WWF and with implementation support from Good Stuff International, they have undertaken a project to substantially reduce their water and pesticide use, increase biodiversity across the farm and support improved water management practices throughout the catchment by encouraging other...
