Collective action | With AWS, The CEO Water Mandate, The Nature Conservancy, WaterAid and WWF
This session built on the collaborative effort of the organisations in the last two years to develop the implementation pathway for collective action in catchments. The aim was to establish a joint work plan for the coming year focussed on global coordination and governance, data and tools, financing models, experience sharing and pathways, to enhance engagement with the public sector on the collective action effort. Besides, the session included experience sharing on the challenges corporations have faced when developing multi-stakeholder collective action for water security, and strategies to overcome these challenges.
Industrial Park water stewardship | Led by WWF
Industrial Parks (IP) play a multifaceted role, not only managing water supply and wastewater treatment for industry but also overseeing general administration and public services. This session convened diverse stakeholders for a constructive dialogue and explored collaborative opportunities on the topic of IP Water Stewardship. The session demonstrated and built on WWF´s collaborative experience in China of developing a methodology that tailors the concept of water stewardship to the unique context of industrial parks.
New horizons: Understanding water & sanitation requirements in a tightening EU regulatory landscape for sustainability due diligence and reporting | With AWS and WaterAid
The evolving corporate sustainability regulatory environment is changing the business landscape, forcing companies globally to better understand and disclose their materiality, and driving action on their environmental and human rights impacts risks and opportunities. EU CSRD (ESRS) and CSDDD are pioneering this shift and raising the bar on corporate sustainability. Water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) sits at the nexus of this, implicated in both environmental and human rights aspects. This session brought together the thinkers and doers within this space to unpack the expectations of, and implications for, business with respect to WASH in CSRD/CSDDD. In doing so, we discussed the opportunities to ensure compliance through meaningful WASH impacts and identified the gaps that must be filled to support companies to do so.
From first steps to leading action: Defining the roadmap and toolbox for ‘good’ corporate action on Water, Sanitation and Hygiene | With WaterAid and WASH4Work
WaterAid and WASH4Work held an interactive session on the ‘how to’ of good corporate WASH action. This session showcased progress towards a corporate WASH roadmap intended to guide and support corporate WASH action, and convened businesses and NGOs to identify the practical tools and resources needed to support businesses from first steps to leading action.
