World Water Day is on 22 March every year. It is an annual United Nations Observance, started in 1993, that celebrates water and raises awareness of the over 2 billion people currently living without access to safe water. A core focus of World Water Day is to inspire action towards Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 6: water and sanitation for all by 2030. To learn more, visit the official World Water Day website.
Coinciding with World Water Day, the UN is holding the their first freshwater-focussed event in almost 50 years. This landmark event will be co-hosted by the Governments of Tajikistan and the Netherlands at the UN Headquarters in New York City from 22-24 March 2023. Visit our UN 2023 Water Conference page for more information on events convened by AWS and more.
This day offers an opportunity for AWS members to spark conversations around water stewardship and the AWS Standard. We have compiled this toolkit along with a variety of visual assets to help our members start those conversations on their social media channels. While this toolkit has been developed specifically with Twitter and LinkedIn in mind, please feel free to adapt the sample text to fit other social media platforms.
Please note this file is intended for use by AWS Members only and is password protected. AWS Members will have received an email with the password to download the toolkit.
