AWS Global Water Stewardship Forum

The AWS Global Water Stewardship Forum is one of the key events in which our community of members, implementers and stakeholders share knowledge and learning on the evolution of water stewardship practice and forge new directions through dialogue and partnerships.

Held annually in Edinburgh, Scotland, since 2016, it has become the must-attend event for the international water stewardship community. The next AWS Global Water Stewardship Forum will take place from 17-19 May 2022 at Dynamic Earth, a not-for-profit visitor attraction and science centre in Edinburgh, with both in-person and virtual attendance options.


Supported by:


  • The Forum will officially open on Tuesday 17 May 2022 and will take place over three days, finishing on Thursday 19 May
  • Monday 16 May 2022 will be reserved for AWS Governance meetings, including:
    • AWS Board
    • AWS Technical Committee

Virtual attendance

  • AWS Forum sessions from the main hall will be live-streamed, meaning that the vast majority of sessions will be available online
  • Online attendees will be able to participate in discussions via Q&As and online breakout rooms

In-person attendance 

  • The Forum will be held at Dynamic Earth, a not-for-profit visitor attraction and science centre in Edinburgh, Scotland
  • You are welcome to join the Forum dinner on Wednesday evening, 18 May 2022 (please indicate your attendance in the registration form)
  • Accommodation: There are many hotels available nearby, including MacDonald Holyrood HotelPremier Inn and Travelodge

AWS Water Stewardship Prize 2022

The AWS Water Stewardship prize seeks to recognise commitment and innovation by individuals in pursuit of the AWS mission, to lead a global network that promotes responsible use of freshwater that is socially and economically beneficial and environmentally sustainable. The prize is awarded to individuals rather than organisations. AWS Members are able to nominate individuals for the prize. Participation in the Forum is free to all individuals from AWS Member organisations, with both in-person and virtual attendance options. Tickets are also available to purchase for non-members. See pricing options below:
