NHS Highland, which provides health and social care services in an area representing 41 per cent of Scotland’s land mass, has a responsibility to reduce the environmental impact of its activities. This includes tackling water pollution.
In November 2019, Caithness General Hospital in Wick, which is managed by NHS Highland, became the first hospital and public-sector agency in the world to achieve Alliance for Water Stewardship (AWS) certification.
