This event brought together speakers to discuss the Lake Winnipeg Basin Project, an innovative, one-of-a-kind project aimed at helping farmers succeed in water stewardship.
The pilot was undertaken in partnership with AWS Members, Nutrien, General Mills, J.R. Simplot Company, BASF and ALUS Canada, along with the Water Council, to work with agricultural producers in the Lake Winnipeg Basin to develop comprehensive water stewardship plans. The plans were developed in accordance with the AWS Standard and analysed by EcoMetrics.
The webinar discussed the project and showed how water stewardship has benefitted the Lake Winnipeg area. The benefits of the pilot project are expected to increase as producers adopt a full suite of water stewardship practices.
Speakers included:
Brandy Wilson, J.R. Simplot Company
Mike Nemeth, Nutrien
